We’ve just revamped our website and decided to add a Blog section to share the goings on around the farm – so here’s a little introduction and five of our favorite things today.

Graystem Farm is owned and operated by me, Trudy, and my husband John. We have a little flock of laying hens (and sometimes sell fresh eggs), two farm kitties who manage any rodent population and two K9 companions, Luna and Bailey who manage to ‘help’ wherever and whenever they are not needed. Luna in particular loves to grab empty plastic flower pots, crush them and then run all over the place with Bailey in pursuit. I still find crushed pots in odd places with no idea how long they’ve been there. Luna, Bailey, and the farm kitties occasionally pop up in our IG reels.

John is a Coast Guard veteran and retired firefighter. He loves growing vegetables, woodworking, operating heavy equipment, playing several musical instruments and restoring classic cars. Our Hyacinth, a Subaru Sanbar kei truck conversion to a flower truck is his current project. He also loves to cook outdoors and plans to start a YouTube channel soon.

Flower farming is my lifelong gardening hobby turned into a business. When our children were pre-school age, I was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom, but craved adult conversation. My me-time was spent attending several adult education floral design classes and I was soon hooked. So here we are today - living and loving flowers.

· Bread and pizza baked in a woodfired oven

· Garden fresh tomato BLTs

· Roses

· Long walks just before sunset

· The smell of a garden after the rain
